Cynthia Friedman has built her reputation by providing exceptional design solutions to clients from national magazines and associations to regional theater companies. Her trademarks are her impeccable account management and singular focus on the clients' business objectives.

Early in her career, Ms. Friedman was Art Director for the Yale Repertory Theatre, where she perfected her technique of conceptualizing images from complex content and defined her vision for publication design. For nearly two decades, she built a distinguished career in magazine design at the Hearst Publishing Group and the McGraw-Hill Companies. She later became the Design Director for Modern Maturity, the nation's largest consumer magazine.

While working for Eason Associates, Ms. Friedman acquired expertise in developing brand identity standards and communications for many corporate clients. Her designs for the Smithsonian Institution and the Greater Washington Society for Association Executives were recognized for their originality and effectiveness.

Currently, Ms. Friedman is the Art Director at University of Maryland University College (UMUC), the largest public university in the United States, where she overseas the production of more than 700 projects annually, from art catalogs to the university's strategic plan. During 2006-2008, Ms. Friedman developed UMUC's brand identity standards and converted the university's magazine, the Achiever, into an award-winning publication.

She taught Color Theory and Typography for several years at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC as well as Art Direction and Illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. She has extensive experience in print production management and expertise in environmentally responsible printing.

Cynthia Friedman holds a B.S. in Design from Cornell University and an M.F.A. in Publication Design from the California Institute of the Arts.
